Robotic VisionAI Research

I want machines to understand the physical world the way people do, and to act in it. My current research is in computer vision and physical intelligence: teaching robots to perceive, understand and interact with their surroundings.

I am Managing Director of the KIT Center Information · Systems · Technologies (KCIST), which brings together KIT’s research on digitalization and human-centered AI, and a postdoctoral researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), working with Prof. Rainer Stiefelhagen at the CV:HCI Lab and Prof. Tamim Asfour at the H²T Lab.

I received my Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in January 2026 and my M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2021, both from KIT.

Much of my previous work has focused on learning from data that does not yet exist. I built simulation pipelines that create synthetic training data, released Muscles in Time, a large-scale dataset linking human motion to simulated muscle activation, and created OmniFall, a benchmark for fall detection outside the lab.
